velvet vibes

I guess it's always good to start of with a hello!

It is 2016 and so much as changed since my last post. I have made two trips to Barbados and I have spent almost a year living and working in the south of France! I am now preparing to start my final year of university and I can not believe it!

I decided to make a post just because I wanted to do something fun.:)

I have noticed that velvet seems to be the 2016 A/W trend. I am getting some serious 90's vibes with this influx of velvet everywhere ......I'm thinking a yellow velvet dress with an over sized blue or black denim jacket and black boots.

AUTUMN/WINTER '15

Now that it is winding down into autumn I love browsing through all the A/W fashion in the shops and online. I'm sure I say this every year but I love layering up jumpers, wearing thick scarfs and digging out all my coats and jackets.

Here are just a few bits that I have sprung some inspiration from for the new season.

Yes it has been a while , a very long while but i am back with a vengeance! I have decided to change the direction of my blog towards the world of hair. This came about as i have been obsessed with finding new manageable hairstyles for my natural hair. Also finding protective styles in forms of braids and weaves. I thought i would use this space to share my hair journey towards healthier hair and any new hairstyles and hair inspirations i may come across. So yes guys watch this space......!

STYLE CHECKLIST: BACK TO UNI

1. Blazer
Oh the irony, at secondary school i used to hate wearing my blazer, yet now it's becoming my uniform once again.

2. Boots
When you're trekking around campus , no one has got time for feeling fancy in heels. A lean pair of sturdy boots is just enough to see you through the autumn/winter term.

3. Jeans
Those days when you have just 30 minutes to get to your lecture, throw on a pair of easy jeans with a jumper. Done!

4.Bags and Backpacks
Do you ever find how sometimes you have nothing in your bag but it still manages to be breaking your arm off? Try and opt for perhaps a soft bag or a travel friendly backpack. #getyournerdon

Tried + Tested #2

I have been on the search for that perfect foundation , i had been using the maybelline dream satin foundation and mixing it with the L'Oreal Paris Eau de Teint foundation, this slowly became such an chore and i was fed up with having to create my own. I had always been on the look out for that perfect foundation where i wouldn't have to spend time to mix or change to different colour in the summer to winter * ah *.
After watching some reviews on the YSL teint touche eclat , i thought i would splurge on this product, and yes it was well worth it! This product instantly revived my my lack luster skin, as it is skin illuminating product with spf qualities as well. With just one pump it gives a me flawless cover. If i wanted to have a full coverage i would need simply just half a pump more and voila! The first time i wore this product i was complimented on the brightness of my skin. This product is not heavy on the skin at all and blends in like a dream. Also another reason i wanted to try out this foundation was the range of colours it has , from fair skin to dark, i was easily able to select a perfect match to my skin type. Overall it gives me a satin/matt finish , it is fuss free and simply feels luxurious on my skin.  I would definitely recommend this product! YSL you've done it again!

UNIVERSITY UPDATE #3

"Look who's come crawling back aye?!"

It has been an extremely long time since i had blogged, yet again excuses such as having no time and being caught up with work comes to mind. However that is not exactly the case , as i seem to be suffering from the lack of inspiration once again , i feel as though i my blog is quite open in the sense that i don't necessarily have a direction in which i want this blog to go to. I find this to be the story of my life right now *sigh*  , not having a exact route in which i want to aim for and just having multiple ideas and merely trying things out to see what works for me. I  feel as though i am meant to know exactly what it is i want to do right now, and that i am meant to have a plan. But that doesn't have to be case exactly , its not always good to be tied down to a specific goal as sometimes you find you miss out on different experiences, and things outside of these goals. Sometimes it is good to try out new things and make mistakes because at least you can see what sort of things suit you and what do not.

I am currently meant to be studying for my exams on monday and friday, i have two exams left and then i will be finished of my first year of university already! I must say that this has got to be the quickest academic year of my 9 years of education. i literally feel as though where did the time go , i now have to be moving out of my halls of residence and move into my new house which i will be in in September. I have to say i am looking forward to what lays ahead in my second year , i hope to be a lot more dedicated to my work and i hope to perhaps finally get my a job , because i know i will be needing it! Perhaps i will continue my series of university updates in my second year as well. For now though i just want to get exam out the way and have a nice summer vacation , it feels weird to know that i will be on my summer vacation in May....
I will have a lot of free time and i really want to start a vlogging channel not that my life is all that exciting as such but i think it would be cool just to upload videos of what ordinary people do in London , it will be good to show people abroad an insight into life in London.

Look out for travel posts soon ~
