I made it down to Plymouth on Saturday, it was a very long drive - 4 hours. I have not quite unpacked yet still living out my suitcase ! But i am very happy with my room as well it is bigger than my own room at home so that is a plus. My roommates are all very welcoming and polite which is all i could hope for, and we are getting along steadily. This is only technically my second day here and yesterday i did feel the punch of homesickness and isolation kick in but it was expected. I think it was just for me I am not normally one to get homesick ever , in fact when i go on holiday i always wish to stay longer , but i guess thats the difference between moving away and going on holiday.
I have learnt that when going to university , the most important thing you should bring is CONFIDENCE. This is the key for making friends, and during freshers week this is very important as you don't want to be walking around aimlessly by yourself as you will feel like shit, do not rely on other people to talk to you first because that doesn't work ( speaking from experience ). Also make sure that you say "yes " to a lot of things , and i find that you have to "fake it" in the sense that if you're a shy person just fake it and be confident ! I don't mean this in a deceitful way , nor does this mean to try and be someone else but just try and be that little more outgoing or even just asking people questions is a good way of getting to talk people. I am currently trying to do all these things as I have been majorly suffering from feeling alone, but theres no time to feel sorry for yourself , you just have to suck it up and get on with it!
I am hoping to be going out later this evening it being freshers week and all , plus i have not taken photos at all , but i think when i am settled i will start taking more photos to share!
Until next time
